Inventory Location Type Behavior

What Are Inventory Locations? 

In Arryved Brewery Management (ABM), Inventory Locations are used to track where your Inventory is as it’s being purchased, produced, sold, delivered, or returned. Your ABM has some built-in Inventory Locations and you can also add your own. Use this guide to learn about each Inventory Location type and how they behave in your ABM. 

Prerequisites

  • Storage, Production, and Taproom Inventory Locations are unique to your business and can be added to your ABM. You must have at least one Storage Location. 
  • Production Inventory Locations are available to Tenants with the Production module enabled. 

Limitations

  • The Inventory Locations built-in to your ABM can’t be removed or modified. They are required for tax and accounting purposes. 

How It Works


Inventory Location Types

There are various types of Inventory Locations in your ABM. Some are built-in to the system, and some are unique to your business.  

  1. During your ABM onboarding, you added your unique Inventory Locations. There are three types: 
    • Storage
    • Production 
    • Taproom
  1. The Vehicles you added to your ABM are also used as Inventory Locations. 
  2. Below are the specific Inventory Locations your ABM has built-in
    • New Inventory
    • Loading / Unloading
    • Delivered / Customer
    • Reduction
    • System Correction

Storage Locations

Locations of the Storage type are intended to hold inventory such as Materials to be used in Production or Finished Goods before sale.

Production Locations

Locations of the Production type are the vessels that Inventory is held in during Production. This includes fermentation tanks, brite tanks, and other vessels in the brewhouse.

Taproom Locations

Locations of the Taproom type are intended to hold Finished Goods before on-premise sale. 

  • Inventory in Taproom Locations is still counted in your ABM Inventory. However, it is marked as ‘removed’ for tax accounting purposes. 
  • Creating Taproom Locations is optional.

Vehicle Locations

Your delivery Vehicles are added to your ABM and utilized during Route planning in the Sales Process. Vehicles are also used as Inventory Locations for when Inventory is loaded onto them prior to delivery. 

Default Accounting Effects of Inventory Moves

**Vehicle location moves have no accounting effects.

New Inventory Location

When adding new Items to your ABM, they begin in the New Inventory Location, one of the built-in Locations in your ABM. Items will move out of this Location once they enter your official Inventory through Production or Purchase Orders. 

Loading / Unloading Location 

These are temporary Locations used during the Sales Process that provide a helpful distinction for tax and accounting purposes. 

  • Inventory is moved from its Storage Location to the ‘Loading’ location when Picking is initiated. The Inventory is then moved to the Vehicle when Picking is complete. 
  • Returned or undeliverable Inventory is moved to the ‘Unloading’ Location during intake after the Route has been marked complete. 

Default Accounting Effects of Inventory Moves

**Loading / Unloading moves have no accounting effects.

Unloading move to the following Locations impact TTB:

  • Reduction - Destroyed: Counts to Line 13
  • Reduction - Loss: Counts to Line 14

Delivered / Customer Location

Inventory is moved to the ‘Delivered / Customer’ Location after an Invoice has successfully been delivered to the Customer’s Delivery Stop.

Reduction Locations

These Reduction Locations allow you to account for Inventory removal due to damage. There are 3 types of Reduction Locations:

  • Loss & Breakage
  • Spoilage
  • Destroyed

System Correction Location

This is a required system location that may be used to correct errors in inventory without modifying accounting or TTB data.
