Inventory Transfers
What Are Inventory Transfers?
In Arryved Brewery Management (ABM), Transfers are used to record a transfer of Inventory from one ABM Site to another. Remember, Sites in your ABM are your business’ locations at different addresses. Use this guide to learn how to create a manual Inventory Transfer.
Prerequisites
- To edit Inventory Transfers in your ABM, you must be a User with either the Admin or Inventory User Roles. The Sales and Production User Roles grant view-only access to Inventory Transfers.
- The Transfer page becomes available in your ABM if you have two or more Inventory Locations that ‘Allow for inter site transfers’.
How It Works
Transfers are used to schedule and record the transfer of Inventory from one ABM Site to another. The Transfer tool allows Inventory to go through the full sales process to properly record the delivery from Site to Site. Therefore, when a transfer is made, a $0 Invoice is created (from yourself to yourself) so that the Inventory can be available for a Route’s Picksheet to be loaded onto a Vehicle.
How Transfers Impact Inventory
- The inventory being transferred is marked as Committed in its original Inventory Location.
- The Inventory is also marked Expected in the Inventory Location that it’s being transferred to. It becomes On Hand in the new Inventory Location on the target transfer date.
- Transfers are also a good way to reserve Inventory for your Taproom before it’s even finished in Production. That way the Inventory is marked as Committed.
Creating A Transfer
- In your ABM, Click Inventory from the left-side navigation bar.
- Click Transfers from the top navigation bar.
- Click New Inter Site Transfer.
- Select an Inventory Location as the Destination for this Transfer.
- Choose a Target Date that you’d like this Transfer to take place. This can be a past, present, or future.
- The Submitted field will auto-fill with the date that the Submit button is clicked on this Transfer.
- You can use the Display View button to see an overview of the info on this Transfer. Then click Edit Order Info to return back to editing.
Adding Items
- Use the Add Item and Bulk Add buttons to add Items to this Transfer.
- Select the Item(s) needed.
- Each Item added will prompt you to select the Inventory Location this Item is being transferred from.
- Enter a Quantity.
- Click Save.
Enter any Notes needed to communicate with team members about this Transfer.
Click Save & Close to save this as a draft and come back to it later.
Click Submit if you’re ready to submit it.
- Transfers in Draft status have no change to Inventory.
- Submitted Transfers mark the Inventory as Committed from its original Location and Expected in its receiving Locations and become On Hand when the Transfer is Fulfilled.
Transfer Invoices
Inventory Transfers behave just like Invoices in your ABM. A Transfer creates a $0 invoice simply to record the transfer and allow you to schedule Routes and Picking. Prices are zeroed out and hidden.
